Job Description
Journeyman / 4th Year Line Technician
The duties for Journeyman / 4th Year Line Technician include:
construct, dismantle, maintain, operate, patrol and repair
de-energized and energized, overhead and underground transmission
and distribution lines and all associated equipment to serve
and maintain service to electrical customers.
Journeyman / 4th Year Line Technician other duties include:
- Install, tension, tie in and remove conductors;
- Install, frame and climb poles and structures;
- Remove disassemble the same;
- Operate basket trucks, digger trucks, trenchers, backhoes
and other various construction equipment;
- Restore electric service lost due to weather, equipment
failure, in a safe and prompt manner;
- Operate and maintain hydraulic tools and systems; and
- Install underground electrical equipment including cable,
switchgear, cable terminations and other related gear.
Journeyman / 4th Year Line Technician will be required to
relocate within 15 road miles of the reporting headquarters.
Ideal candidates of Journeyman / 4th Year Line Technician
must have:
- High school graduation or equivalent;
- Training equivalent to four-year formal apprenticeship training;
- Must obtain and maintain Class "A" CDL, journeyman
lineman certificate or equivalent;
- Four (+) years experience in line construction, operations,
maintenance work or equivalent.
