Summary Duties of Control Center Operator 1:
Under general supervision, operate telephone, radio and SCADA equipment in order to manage daily work activity on BEC energized lines and equipment. This position utilizes Customer Information System, Porche, C3-Ilex, and UAI (outage management) to provide accurate, timely information to both BEC employees working on equipment, and to membership inquiring about their service.

Control Center Operator 1 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Monitor and operate SCADA screens and controls when necessary.
o Answer trouble calls from membership and dispatch emergency crews to restore power.
o Maintains accurate daily log of overall system activity.
o Manages system outages and provides whatever assistance field personnel may need.
o Updates daily reports.
o Knowledgeable of BEC switching procedures.
o Monitor and operate Porche screens and controls when necessary.

Education and Experience of Control Center Operator:
o High School Diploma or Equivalent.
o Previous experience utilizing Microsoft Windows is preferred
o Previous control center experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities of Control Center Operator:
o Ability to communicate both written and orally.
o Ability to enter data into CIS.
o Ability to perform multiple tasks.
o Ability to operate all equipment in Control Center under minimal supervision.
o Regularly perform breaker testing with no supervision.
o Updates daily reports.
o Be familiar with Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
o Works a rotating shift.
o Ability to work overtime during emergencies.
o Ability to work under stress.
